Sensing body and immaterial-material body: quality of movement, direction and high lifting
CONTACT IMPRO workshop in FEBRUARY
Saturday 10th February
16.15 to 21.15
Ealry bird 40-50 euro before 25th January
Focusing this time on the quality of movement, fascia, and the direction of our way to create a lifting with our partner. We will explore also the trio constellation. The workshop invites you to immerse yourself in understanding the language of Contact Improvisation and the transformative nature of the body, through the learning process of connecting with your sensing. By incorporating attention and the sensory body as waves we will encounter each other, and notice the creation of our decision in direction as well the spectrum of possibility of our qualities of interaction. Sensing Waves is a practice generated by listening to the internal waves of the sensing body and stems from Barbara Berti’s interspecies research, working, practicing and dancing with nonhuman encounters (dogs and plants).

SOCIAL PRESENCING THEATER
When?
Sunday 10.09.22
2 – 5 pm
What?
How to make a true move?
Begin to stop thinking, planning and manipulating and instead trusting our body-knowing and a sense of open space. Breaking with habitual opinions, judgements and fears to attend to the emerging future. Deepening our embodied and spatial knowing by bringing awareness to the social field and its hidden patterns. Come and explore the magic of social presencing theater!
Social presencing theater was developed by choreographer, performer and educator Arawana Hayashi and scholar Otto Scharmer (theory U). Theater here stands for being seen in your authentic way. You can find more info here: https://www.u-school.org/
I learned this art form from Arawana and see SPT as a powerful mindfulness practice to create the more beautiful world my heart knows is possible!
Depending on our group size I will choose different practices that include individual and group presencing through movement, meditation, improvisation and dialogue.
The workshop will be in English or German depending on the participants.
Who?
Everyone open to connection, movement, improvisation and play is welcome.

Alexander Technique
NEW Alexander Technique
introductory group course
Wednesday 11:15 – 12:30
with Mariangela Tinelli
The Drop-in, regular class for all levels (beginners and advanced) is an opportunity for collective learning. Fundamental aspects, from the inspiring principles to experiments and exercises to use it. Here is a chance to get to know the A. T. with easy steps. It offers a frame for taking a break from the routined and goal or task oriented way of life and directs the gaze to the body and mind connection.
The class starts with a guided meditation. It vitalizes sensorial perceptions and aids paying attention to unfiltered thoughts and already introduces the basics of the technique. Afterwards we take a closer look at a simple activity which is important/symbolic in our every day movements (like standing/walking/or a particular movement that the participants wish to explore). The participants are assisted in experimenting with the new idea’s of the A.T. During this activity, I take time to work with each one, using fine touch as well as verbal explanation. The use of gentle touch inspires a beneficial alignment of the body in a pose and mainly during movement. The delicate physical manipulations also allow for the benefits of non-verbal communication. Step by step, it’s a possibility of creating a personal experimentation manual to unlearn automatisms and minute habits that are involuntary and unaware. Participants are welcome to explore the new tools for themselves beyond the class and particularly in relation to their creative and artistic endeavor. There will be a chance to feedback this experience back in the following class.
The Alexander Technique is oriented around the notion of well-being and of unified physical and mental balance. It gives attention to sensory awareness and draws knowledge from the personal use of the body-mind. With the premise that the inherent natural support system (head-neck-back relationship and skeletal system of the human body), works at it’s best if it’s not interfered with, it is a procedure of unlearning harmful unconscious habits. The individual way into action is given new directives and therefore new choices can be made. This sensitizing process creates a new self-awareness and a clarity replacing hindering movement and thought patterns into freer, more agile and fluent ones and encourages foremost a spontaneous way of moving and being.

Mariangela Tinelli, born and raised in Ulm, Germany, moves to the Netherlands to study contemporary dance at the Amsterdam Academy of Performing Arts (1997-2001). The following 20 years she dances in pieces by various international choreographers and performs with the works of known time-based artists. After she moves to Berlin she concludes the teacher training course at the Alexander Technique School Berlin (2017-2021) and is a member of the Alexander Technique Teacher’s Society (ATVD) based in Freiburg. Since a few years she teaches A. T. individual classes and has created a particular workshop format for musicians. Her own experience with the Alexander Technique has proven to be an invaluable aid for her longevity as a dance artist in her middle age where she can continue to develop a nuanced mastery of the craft. Also in her personal case it is a considerable help for difficulties with joint hyper mobility and a support with high sensitivity personality (HSP).
NEU Alexander-Technik
Einführungskurs für Gruppen
mittwochs 11:15 – 12:30
Pro Kurs Einheit €15 in bar
