Traditional Polish Folk Songs & Archaic Singing Technique

Workshop with Paulina Miu Kühling

9.11.2019, 18:30-21:00

This  workshop is designed to give you an impression of an unique archaic singing technique typical for cultures of Central and Eastern Europe. It can be described as a mixture of singing and shouting. In Poland it is also known as “bright voice” or “bright singing” because it gives the impression of brightness, it pierces space with its strong vibration. This singing technique is strongly connected to traditional polish folk songs and  their specific cultural, historical and even ecological context. It has no connection to classical music education. Instead, reaching for the deepest layers of the human voice, it is – in fact – one of the most natural forms of vocal expression.
