Afro Latin Grooves Training

Sweat. Dance. Move to the rhythm.

Afro Latin Groove is a dance training rooted in Afro-Latin diasporic dances, approached through contemporary dance and somatic practices. Through the joy of moving together, we reconnect with the rhythmic mobility of the spine, the release of the pelvis, and the rebound of our joints. We sweat, move, and become more sensitive to polyrhythms and our relationship with gravity, while cultivating a deeper connection to the presence of our own bodies through our relationship with others, discovering together the energetic power of embodied rhythm.

*A practice of training the body through pleasure and joy, where all bodies and levels of experience are welcome.

Every Wednesday at 11:45–13:15 hours.

Single class: €15
4-class pass: €40

Urban Sports Club members: €5 suggested donation

Valentina Menz Nash is a choreographer, performer, and movement researcher who, in 2023, completed her MA in Choreography at Hochschule Ernst Busch (HZT Berlin). Her practice focuses on the creative meeting of her experience with Afro-Latin American dances and her background in contemporary dance, especially improvisation and the practice of Contact Improvisation, searching for other modes of embodiment that allow for different relationships with the environment. She is interested in how the development of rhythmic sensibility can allow us to connect with the force of gravity, inviting the exploration of different states of presence and ways of coming together.
