COLLECTIVE SINGING WORKSHOP

Collective Singing Workshop 2h 22.09.24

Time and place: September 22, 2024 from 14:30 – 16:30

Where: K77

What: Collective Singing Workshop!

Singing is a natural state, the vibrations our voice releases are healing to our bodies. In this workshop we explore the basics of singing (resonators / projection) and explore them in connection to dance and movement. After having time for individual exploration I present you with a form of circle singing where we explore some principles of improvisation and harmonization. The workshop ends with the group sustaining a circle singing improvisation.

For whom? Workshop is BIPOC – FLINTA – Queer centered but all are welcome to join being mindful of the space they take. Absolutely no singing knowledge is required.

Cost: Sliding Scale suggested donations

5-20 EUR for precarised people (bipoc, migrant, folks in service work)

10-30 EUR for everyone else

If you can’t afford it just get in touch. No one is turned away for lack of funds.

Registration: Please send me an email or a text saying your name+pronouns and why you’re interested in joining the workshop.

Accessibility: The studio where the workshop takes place is not wheelchair accessible, workshop is held in English but I can offer support in Spanish and French. You do not have to be able-bodied to participate. I have found that people struggling with sensory issues can be overwhelmed by some of the exercises. I am happy to hear about your access needs and try to find alternatives when possible. Please send me a pm via instagram @bosesarte ar an email at bosesarte@gmail.com if you have specific concerns or having clearer expectations might make it possible for you to join.

Facilitator: My name is Bosé (they/xe) I was born and raised in México, I am a queer POC and I have been singing since I have memory, my training has passed by choirs, opera, jazz, looping and improv. As an artist I work with sound and physical theatre. To me, liberating the body and the voice is intrinsical to political liberation. It is important for me to move through the world with radical gentleness and an anti-discrimination perspective. When it comes to singing, I want to offer the tools I have to anyone interested, because I believe everyone deserves to develop a relation to their voice, while I also keep in mind who feels entitled to be LOUD. As a facilitator I try to provide safer spaces for our explorations.
