A weekly working session led by Jeremiah Day, based in Simone Forti’s improvisational method led of integrating movement and text.
Logomotion, Forti’s term for her method, is an open experimental training for performers, poets, dancers and artists of all kinds. Each meeting starts with a warm-up, then builds through improvisational scores into making work together.
Often including free-writing, we will develop material and subject matter to serve as the basis for short pieces.
Also featuring guest teachers such as Ari Hoffman, Claire Filmon, and Batyah Schachter who have studied and taught with Forti. Jeremiah Day’s performance method has a basis in Simone Forti’s work, with whom Day has studied, then later collaborated and taught with dating over two decades.
Originally inspired by an invitation from Will Holder and KW Berlin, we’ll continue to hold the space for this experimental practice.
More of a chance to work together than a class, feel free to drop in. Please bring pen and paper.
